Snake IO – Play Free Online

Snake IOis PlaySnake's arena mode: steer freely in 360°, eat glowing food to grow, and make the 12 AI snakes crash into your body while you dodge theirs. It's free, runs in your browser on phone or PC, and needs no download or account.

How to play

• Steer: move your mouse, drag the on-screen joystick on mobile, or use WASD / arrow keys.
• Grow: eat the glowing orbs. Bigger orbs and the food dropped by defeated snakes are worth more.
• Boost: hold Space or the mouse button (⚡ on mobile) to sprint. Boosting burns some of your length.
• Survive: if your head touches another snake's body or the arena edge, you're out. You can cross your own tail safely.
• Hunt: cut in front of an AI snake so it hits you. It bursts into food you can eat.

12 AI opponents

AI snakes chase food, avoid walls and try to cut you off, so the arena is always busy with no lobby and no lag.

Combos, XP and skins

Eat quickly to build a combo multiplier. Each round earns XP, and levelling up unlocks new neon skins. Your stats, level and skins are saved in your browser.

Snake IO vs. classic snake

Classic snake is a solo puzzle on a grid: four directions, and your own tail is the enemy. Snake IO drops the grid for smooth 360° movement, and the danger comes from other snakes, not yourself. Prefer old-school? Try the Nokia-style snake or play a friend in 2 player snake.

Tips

• Grab a Shield early. It's a free second life.
• Boost only to escape or to cut off a rival. It costs length.
• When a big AI snake dies, rush to its food trail before the others do.
• Stay away from the arena edge unless you're shielded.
